About  Fabric Fantasie

The seeds for Fabric Fantasie were sown following a life trauma that left me reeling and fragmented. A couple of years on I started making cards with a supply of fabric from earlier dressmaking days. I was engaged with an outdoor nature-based therapy and somehow found myself on a creative journey I didn’t expect, and which has become a source of unexpected joy and new direction. Drawing on previous sewing skills and a rapid new learning journey with all things stitch, textiles, colour, and art, the adventure continues....

Why Fabric Fantasie?

I chose the name because everything I do involves FABRIC and I get truly excited by the infinite colours, designs and textures.

FANTASIE is a musical term to depict a piece that doesn't follow set forms or patterns but flows in unpredictable and sometimes unexpected ways. That's how I like to work, following instinct and intuition and not usually knowing what the result will be when I start. A journey of exploration, unfolding and adventure.
